Nakkash Design Studio, together with their brand partner Actual Friends, grew the idea into the brand Magpie, a name inspired by the magpie bird and stories about it treasuring shiny objects and beautiful things, akin to Rima’s own life-long fascination to collect jewellery.

Staying true to the firm’s DNA of developing concept-driven and human-centred designs, Nakkash launched into a process of ideation to develop the core idea. Even at the outset, the focus was to construct a strong brand identity first before designing the interiors of the store. Building on the metaimage of a magpie, the team developed a design language and transformed the cosy 75 sq.m retail space into an abstracted bird’s nest. The interiors and design elements were carefully crafted to subtly evoke this central idea.
